15th September, 2008: Senior BJP Leader and Punjab State Chief of BJP Investor Cell, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal condemned serial bomb blasts in New Delhi killing and injuring many innocent people and called for serious action against such barbaric and cowardly acts of terrorism.

Fumed with the state of Internal Security and repeated failure of Intelligence, he avowed that Shivraj Patil, Cabinet Minister of Home Affairs in Congress led UPA Government should resign without more ado as Indians have lost faith in him and his Italian boss Edvige Antonia Albina Maino alias Sonia Gandhi, President, INC. Repetitive strikes in various states from little known militant groups, such as Indian Mujahideen and Babbar Khalsa, in cities of New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Surat, Banglore, Jaipur, Ajmer, Varanasi, Faizabad and Lucknow killing hundreds of innocents in less than 10 months is uncalled for and is a testimony of the state of Internal Security of the country. Grewal further stated that Government and the Minister in context miserably failed in collating clinching information about over 5000 SleeperĀ  Cells believed to be in India, their Logistic and Financial Support Systems despite a reign of terror by these extremist groups all over the country in last 4 years.

He suggested that Government should design an Integrated Counter-Terrorism Strategy that should look into all the counter-terrorism components viz. Intelligence Collection, Analysis, Assessment and Co-ordinated Follow-up Action; Rural and Urban policing; Physical Security; and Crisis Management. He asserted that the first three components play a preventive and protective role while the last component limits the damage if the preventive and protective role fails. In any counter-terrorism strategy, the strengthening of all the four capabilities should receive equal attention and they should work together in such a manner that even if one fails, the others can neutralize the terrorists and the damage sought to be caused by them.

He condemned the brutal and cowardly act of these heinous perpetrators and demanded that serious efforts be made by all political parties to formulate an integrated Action Plan to counter this deadly evil. He affirmed his condolences to those who lost their loved ones in these attacks and requested the people to help maintain peace and tranquility in this crisis.
