BOFORS II
09th September, 2008, Ludhiana: Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal, Punjab State Chief, BJP Investor Cell termed the Indo-Nuclear Deal as Bofors Scam sequel and expected it to be bigger than its predecessor. He aggrieved that US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice and Pranab Mukherjee, Minister of External Affairs is understood to have brokered a Secret Deal wherein the Congress Party have promised “Lion Share” of over Rs 4,00,000 Crores Nuclear Trade to support withering US economy. Grewal reiterated that National Security Advisor’s statement that US “interests” will be protected
as a barter to US Support to clinch the IAEA approval and NSG waiver followed by External affairs Minister, Pranab Mukherjee’s response that the UPA Government will wait for ratification of the 123 agreement between India before executing bi-lateral agreements with more competent countries viz. France, Russia etc. corroborates his stand that the Congress is bent to favour US based companies. Grewal added that he suspects that enrichment and reprocessing technologies transfer have been removed from the NSG waiver to strategically favour US in guise of clean waiver as US had not build any Nuclear Reactor for last 30 years and the Nuclear Reactor Technology marketed by US don’t support Re-processing. The absence of enrichment and reprocessing technologies from the NSG waiver will further vindicate his stand. US have supported India only to spur indigenous Nuclear Reactor Construction by pushing a 3 decade old Nuclear Reactor outdated technology, revive their own Industry and most important, open the doors to the Sale of US Defence, Space equipment and Technology to India.
Grewal cautioned External Affairs Minister, Pranab Mukherjee to restrain from broking such anti-National Deals at the behest of Congress President Sonia Gandhi as she may have to relocate to the country of her origin as truth of the sequel is bound to come to fore and people of India will not be in a mood to spare her this time.
