12th  August, 2008, Chandigarh: Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal, Punjab State Chief, BJP Investor Cell held Peoples Democratic Party, Mehbooba Mufti responsible for the prevailing unrest and flaring up communal emotions in Jammu and Kashmir. He asserted that Former Minister in J&K Government and Leader of People’s Democratic Party, Javid Mustafa Mir led a procession at Lasjan on the outskirts of the Srinagar. When a Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) along with other Police officers tried to stop the procession, Javid Mustafa Mir’s Personal Security Guard fired at them injuring Mahesh Kumar (IPS), SDPO amongst 7 other cops. The intent of this wanton firing was meticulously planned to provoke the security personnel on duty so as they confront the mob and revert back with fire, added Grewal. He lauded the effort of Sh. Mahesh Kumar (SDPO) and other security officers of his team guarding the Lajsan area for keeping restrain. Grewal demanded that the Javid Mustafa Mir of PDP, his Security Guard and all those responsible for this shameless incident should immediately be arrested after registering an FIR against them. Grewal termed the leadership of Peoples Democratic Party and All Party Hurriyat Conference as Anti-National and Pro-Pakistan. He said APHC and PDP are trying to give communal colour to this Nationalist Movement fought together by Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs so as they could convert this to votes in the upcoming elections by polarising them. He added that people of Jammu and Kashmir are keeping a close eye on their Anti-National activities and will throw them out of India had they not restrained from their anti-India designs.
