DHANDA HAS NO MORAL RIGHT TO FAVOUR MC DEMOLITIONS |

Ludhiana, 09th August, 2008, Ludhiana: Advocate Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal, Punjab State Chief, BJP Investor Cell flayed Harish Rai Dhanda, Chief Parlimentary Secretary, Local Bodies, Punjab Government, yesterday’s remarks against BJP Councillors who threatened to resign against demolition drive of Municipal Corporation.
Grewal asserted that Harish Rai Dhanda have no moral right to support demolition drive of Municipal Corporation, as he himself stalled an anti-encroachment drive of Municipal Corporation in Vishwamitter Street, Malerkotla House on 31st July, 2007 which was ordered for removal by Honourable Punjab and Haryana High Court. He asserted that Harish Rai Dhanda is a senior advocate and had held responsible positions earlier in District Bar and Punjab and Haryana High Courts and he should have respected the orders of Honourable Punjab and Haryana High Court. He added that the Malerkotla House area residents have brought to his attention that they had complained about the above encroachment over the Public Street to Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana in March, 2005 and after following the MCL for over 2 years, Senior Town Planner ordered removal of the said encroachment in July, 2007. But, when the demolition squad reached the site to remove the above encroachment, Dhanda ordered the then ATP Tejpreet Singh to revert. Since, then the matter has been repeatedly published in various newspapers and had brought bad name to our Government but Dhanda have been unmoved. He said the above act had been unbecoming for a Chief Parliamentary Secretary and shameful for a Senior Advocate. He further held that he should first become a role model being a senior functionary in SAD-BJP Government and should order immediate removal of the encroachment in Vishwamitter Street, Malerkotla House before giving lessons to others. He reiterated that he strongly supports Sh. Sat Pal Gosain, Deputy Speaker, Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Sh. Om Prakash Bhardwaj, BJP District President, Sh Pravin Bansal, Senior Deputy Mayor, Deputy Mayor Shmt Sunita Aggarwal and BJP MC Councillors and asserted that such double speak spoils otherwise seamless SAD-BJP relationship and will not be tolerated. |
