3rd August 2008,Ludhiana Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal, Punjab State Chief of BJP Investor Cell questioned the qualification of Bir Devinder Singh, Congress Spokesperson to dare a debate over Nuclear Deal with Shiromani Akali Dal and BJP. Grewal said that before anybody could deliberate with him over Nuclear Deal, could he enlighten the Nation over the following concerns: - How much energy requirements can be met through this Civil Nuclear Deal with the existing Infrastructure and at what cost? Can he produce a Cost-Benefit Techno-Commercial analysis of the Nuclear Power with other sources of Energy? How much Harmful Radio-active Waste will be generated through these Nuclear Reactors every year and where does the Congress led UPA Government plan to keep this Extremely hazardous Radioactive Waste generated across Nation? Does the Government plan to transport the above Radio-active Waste generated across nation to a Central Store? If so, what will be the final destination of these radioactive leftovers? In the event of any Terrorist attack during transportation of this Radio-active material will he or his Party who had already failed on Internal Security be held responsible? What measures Government have planned to safeguard people from the harmful affects of this Radioactive Waste once generated and wherever stored? He asserted that he is worried about the Socio-Economic impacts apart from serious Health hazards of this otherwise biased Nuclear Deal. He further said that the truth of the Nuclear Deal would be in front of the Nation once the 45 Nation Nuclear Supplier Group (NSG) meets on 21st August 2008 to decide whether to resume Civil Nuclear Trade with India as it is an open truth that the UPA Government will not be able to get a “Clean” or “Unconditional” waiver with Austria, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand and Switzerland likely to oppose the move
